Ben turns 7!

Our silly, sweet, curious middle child turned 7 earlier this month.  He celebrated with friends at Stoneworks Climbing gym and then a visit with Santa later that day. Hard to believe this little guy is growing up so fast.

So WET but so FUN!

Ben turns 6!

Ben turned 6 yesterday!  I still think of him as my little buddy but he's growing up!  We celebrated with a pool party at SW Community Center.  I lost count how many times we went down the slide!

Fireballs!

Ben had his first kick and chase game today.  He says he doesn't like soccer and is usually goofing around during practices... today he was up and down the field kicking the ball, blocking goals and scored 2 of his own!

First day!

Here we go... the first day of school 2012!  Sam is going into 3rd grade and Ben into kindergarten.  Hard to believe!  Harper doesn't know what to think - she spends her days following them around and doing everything they do!

T-ball DONE!

Ben was hot and cold about t-ball this spring.  The practices followed by games were a little long for 5 year olds... and much of the time Ben was rolling around out in the grass, digging in the dirt, or roaming around the outfield.  This last photo is him at the end of the final game - he was D-O-N-E.

Bittersweet

Last Friday marked the last day of preschool for Ben.  I can't believe he is off to kindergarten in the fall.

How is he getting so big so fast?

“I see children as kites. You spend a lifetime trying to get them off the ground. You run with them until you’re both breathless ... they crash ... you add a longer tail ... finally they are airborne, but they need more string so you keep letting it out. With each twist of the ball of twine there is a sadness that goes with the joy, because the kite becomes more distant, and somehow you know it won’t be long before that beautiful creature will snap the lifeline that bound you together and soar as it was meant to soar, free and alone.”

Tball

Here is Ben playing T-Ball on Wednesday night.  After about 45 min he gets bored... and it ended with him walking off the field when he didn't get picked to play first base.  The kid has a little bit of a stubborn streak... wonder where he gets it?

Boys

I took this a week ago before Sam's last basketball game... He looks so grown up and his feet look huge!  Ben... gotta love the hat!
