Ben's big day...

Little Ben has been such a trooper today. I scooped him out of bed at 5:30 this morning and we headed out the door for surgery to correct his umbilical hernia. He has had it since birth but they always thought it would disappear by the time he was 5. He was a little nervous but did great... the versed kicked in, and he got the heavy eyes and off they wheeled him into the OR.
He was NOT happy when he woke up...mom wasn't in the room and the anesthesia hadn't totally worn off. He fought the IV and the monitors and then finally settled down and was able to rest for a while before we went home. The highlights for Ben were the wheelchair ride, the stuffed animals they sent home with him and the popsicles. The nurses we had at St. V's were absolutely the best. He has been resting on the couch all day and been such a brave little guy. We've had a few rough moments tonight as he is pretty sore, and the wrong move can be very painful. Hoping he sleeps tonight and that tomorrow he starts to feel better. :-)

Strawberry Girl

Kids

The boys never let me spike their hair or give them mohawks after their showers... this was a first!
This one has crazy hair - tight curls in the back and straight on top... and then when she sleeps the back looks like a rats nest and her bangs fall in her eyes.  I need to take her in for a haircut but I'm afraid they will totally screw it up.  :-)
She loves necklaces, bracelets, scarves, hats... anything she can dress up with.  She also loves trying to get into the deodorant, shaving cream, shampoo etc.
She has to be involved in whatever the big kids are doing.

V-day 2012

Valentine's Day was a big hit this year with the kids... they loved exchanging valentine's with their friends and making cards for each other.  Last night Harper found Sam's valentine box with all of his cards and goodies... she grabbed a lollipop and ran!  Little miss independent had the wrapper ripped off and the lollipop in her mouth before we could even catch her.  She was pretty proud of herself!

Lazy Friday

Ben and Harper are quite the little buddies.
The boys like to throw the ball and walk the dogs... but Harper is the first of the kids that actually likes to pet and snuggle them.  She kept lifting up Reilly's ears and laying on him... did he even bother to wake up?  Nope!

Little helper

The kids and I made pizza last week and Harper refused to be left out of the action.  Here are a few pix of my little foodie making her first pizza!
