Eyes Open!

These awake moments have been few and far between! My boys weren't quiet, sleeping infants... I am crossing my fingers that she will be our laid back child. :-)

Day 10

I am with all 3 kiddos today - no Brian, mom, dad or anyone here and so far so good. I need to get the kids out and do a few things before the day is over but the thought of loading them all up and getting out into the world is a little scary!
We actually got out this weekend quite a bit as a family of 5 - farmers market, birthday party and Harper was great. So I can't complain that she has been a little stinker from about 9-11:30pm the last few nights... she is having a hard time getting settled and to sleep... but she LOVES to sleep all day!

1 week old

This little monkey is one week old today! She has changed so much in the last few days. She actually had her eyes open for a few minutes this morning and survived her first shopping trip this afternoon.

The boys have been running through the house being as loud as usual and it doesn't seem to phase her. Mom and Dad have been here this week helping with the chaos... getting lunches made and entertaining the the boys while I get a few things done around the house and take care of Harper. Brian has been running their energy out in the evening with trips to the park, bike rides and swimming. He starts teaching full time next week including night classes - yikes!
Harper with Grandma... She looks so tiny!

Sleeping and more sleeping

We can't seem to keep this little one awake during the day. Last night she was up all night eating and partying -- and today has had her eyes open for about 10 minutes! I am thinking it's going to be another long night!

We're home!

We finally made it home yesterday around noon. The boys were beyond excited to have us back home and Ben can't get enough of Harper. He wants to hold, hug and kiss her constantly. Sam is brings me diapers, binkies, blankets and has been helping out doing little jobs around the house.
Catnapping at the hospital.
Ian and Lizzie came to visit Sunday. They were too sweet holding her.
Ready to go home!
Ben looks so BIG now! We stopped by Ellen's last night to see David and Elizabeth who are passing through on their way to Alaska.

She's Here!

Harper Quinn Adams was born August 20th at 9:14am. She weighed in at 8lbs 9oz and has lots of dark hair.
First bath...
Love her fuzzy post-bath hair!
Visit from Auntie Ellen
Ben loves to hold her and give her "pets"...
Big brother!
Papa and Mimi have been taking care of the boys.
We should be going home Monday - for now we are getting rest up at St. V's.

We are so thankful for our wonderful friends and family. We appreciate all of the sweet notes, emails, phone calls and offers to help! xoxo

Just a few more days!

3 more days and she will be here! Crazy to think of it in terms of days now after counting down the months, and then weeks... The boys are excited but really have no idea how life is about to change!

August 14th

Nothing too exciting happening around here... playdates and coffee with friends, organizing around the house, getting the laundry done, extra meals made and put in the freezer etc. Last night we had a BBQ with great friends and spent time with them all today at the pool. Sam was quite the fish! He swam for 3 hours - probably did 50 cannonballs and flips off of the floating lounge chairs. He was exhausted and crashed out by 7 tonight. We have another swimming party tomorrow, which is great since it was 100 degrees here today and will be hot for the next few days. Hard to believe we will have a new baby girl by Friday... 6 days! Where has summer gone?

Wilson Pool

We played at Wilson pool today and the kids could have stayed for hours. When it was time to go, they begged for one more trip down the curly slide, frog slide, lazy river etc. We gave in... and after 20 more minutes they still kept on with the "One more time, pllllleeeaaassseee!"

Sam's creation

Yesterday the boys went to the Children's Museum with Char and Duffy. They had a "KIDS BUILD" exhibit for kids 6 and older and Sam built this playground. You have to draw up a plan and then build it with a hot glue gun, sticks, beads and other materials. Pretty cool!
