Lots o' Lights

We made our annual trek to Zoolights tonight. We met Ellen and family as soon as the doors opened to get in before the crowds and it was great! No line for the train - woo hoo!

They have the whole zoo lit up with Christmas lights - all kinds of animals, winter scenes etc. So cool!
The only peacock you will find at the Oregon zoo...

These two crack me up - they have so much fun together.

The train is always a hit. The kids got so excited to see all of the animal lights. They were shouting out "a lion, look an eagle, a dinosaur, a bear etc..."

We even saw the tigers and elephants tonight. The baby elephant is so darn cute!

Ben refused to sit in the stroller. Sam and Lizzie sat so nicely but Ben was bombing down the trails! He finally tired out and Brian carried him up that lonnnggg zoo hill.

Getting a decent family picture proves to be quite the challenge. This is the best we could do - ha!
We went out to eat with everyone afterwards to a new place in Cedar Hills...Five Guys Burgers and Fries. We had a great time celebrating Ben's birthday... the zoo, family and some greasy food. We haven't taken the kids out to eat anywhere in quite a while so they thought it was pretty cool. Ben asked twice to go potty and I just ignored him since I figured he was just imitating the big kids. I finally gave in and took him and he actually did go! His first "pee pee in the potty" as he calls it... I don't expect another one for a while but it was fun while it lasted!
