Sunriver Day 2

The kids spent most of the day Monday on their bikes and splashing in the pool. That night we BBQed while they had a water fight and made mud pies!

Sunriver Day 1

The kids are having such a good time in Sunriver. Lots of bike riding, swimming, playing tennis and baseball in the yard etc. Aunt Susie and Uncle Denny came over Sunday night and we celebrated Lizzie's 6th Birthday!

Eat will ya!

Ben really wanted Mac to eat his food Saturday. I came downstairs and he had him in a headlock and was dragging him to the bowl and trying to shove his head into the food... "Eat your food Mac! Come on!"

Peninsula Park

The boys and I met some friends at Peninsula Park today in N. Portland. It is a beautiful park with the 2nd oldest playground in Portland. They have huge fir trees, fields for soccer and softball, basketball courts, community center, fountain, wading pool and rose gardens.

Rare sight...

If you know Brian very well he is doesn't allow himself to totally relax very often... loved seeing this last night at the park!

Keeping Cool at Magnolia Park

We played at Magnolia Park this morning with cousins and friends. The kids loved it! New play structures, swings, fountain and great places to picnic.

All were tired by the end!

Babies

Ben has been very excited about babies lately. He likes to touch their hands and toes, pet their heads and tell me how cute they are...
Brian was holding Taylor (Kristi's baby) last night and Ben climbed right up. I don't think he wanted another baby taking over ALL of his daddy's lap...
Pretty soon he wanted Taylor to go see her mom and Brian to himself. Love the eyebrows!

Oaks Park Fun...

Dad and I took the boys to Oaks Park this morning... they have a summer deal on T/W mornings...kids under 6 can ride all of the kiddy rides for $6. I think we rode 15 rides!
Ben had no fear - he rode everything - he even sat in the first car of the roller coaster and asked to do it again the minute it stopped. Sam wasn't so sure when we got to the top of the first hill but ended up with big smiles the rest of the way!
The cars were also a hit...
Motorcycles...
Wild boat ride...
Frog hopper...
This tilt-a-whirl packed a powerful punch... the first time we rode it, our car never stopped spinning. I was worried the boys would be freaked out but they just laughed and smiled the whole time.

Pool Party

We spent the afternoon swimming with friends. Kelsey's parents have a great pool and the kids loved it!
Relaxing...
Ben flying...
Loving the pool!

Parade

This morning was the annual 4th of July Parade and Party in the Park... the kids were up early and ready!
Our neighborhood organizes a huge carnival with bouncy houses, slides, face painting, dunk tanks, snow cones, pie and watermelon eating contests, clown etc... The kids had a blast but faded fast in the heat... It was over 90 today and not a lot of shade.
Sam ready to ride home...

4th Pre-Party

Last night we had our annual get together before the 4th... to decorate bikes and let the cousins run around. We ate way too much, rode bikes, splashed in the pool and played ball.
Ben stripped down and gave us a show... jumping in and out of the pool and being a clown.
Relaxing...
This frog hopped through the yard - Ben tried to pick it up but got freaked out when it jumped about 2 feet up in the air!

Cooling off...

It was a hot week here in Portland! We spent a couple of days at the pools around town. Thursday we met some friends at the Wilson Pool. The boys both loved the lazy river, frog slide and the big curly slide...
It was packed!
