Last Day in Sunriver

It's hard to believe we have already been here a full week! We are planning on taking a few more bike rides, hitting the pool, and visiting with Aunt Susie and Uncle Dennis before we have to head back to Portland tomorrow. Here are a few more pictures of our trip! Cousins catching bugs!
Playing in the back yard... we have been playing tag, baseball and making lots of mud pies (or mud cakes as the big kids call them). We finally got Ian and Ben to sit still for a photo!
At the pool...
Can you find the deer? The kids were tossing her blueberries and she was pretty curious. If you look closely you can see her peeking around a tree at the little ones.

Sunriver... 4th Annual Trip Underway!

We left Saturday for our annual Whiting Sunriver trip! The kids are having a blast and are absolutely exhausted at the end of every day. We have been enjoying long bike rides, swimming, playing outside, Scrabble tournaments, watching the Olympics and just relaxing!

Ben exploring...
Sam and Lizzie have been taking several bike rides a day. They are now starting to master the actual Sunriver bike trails and are getting pretty fearless. We have been working on staying to the right when other bikers are coming our way... They are FINALLY getting it! The hardest part is getting them to slowwww dowwwwnnn!
We rode out along the Deschutes to the stables yesterday. The kids loved feeding the horses carrots!
Ben, Lizzie and Ian all took a pony ride. Sam had fun watching and digging in the dirt...
Pool time!
Loving the slide!

We have been playing a lot in the back yard - the kids love it when we pitch them the ball.

The deer here have been very friendly and pass by most evenings! Here is a mama and her baby... They were just about to come closer when the kids came running and scared them away!

Sam has been telling us he doesn't want to go home. We have 4 days left... More pix to come!

Busy Week

We went to Oaks Park on Tuesday with Sam's "girlfriend" Kaitlynn. In 2 hours we managed to go on tons of rides - several of them multiple times! Sam was mildly interested in the mini-roller-coaster, but later decided it looked too scary...
Here is Sam biking to the park with Grandma Char and Papa Duffy. On our way home we saw 2 beavers eating and heading into their lodge. The kids thought that was pretty cool!
Ben loves to water everything from our gardens to his own shoes!
Brothers goofing around in the back yard.

Fun at Wilson Pool!

Exploring the Fair

We took the kids to the County Fair today. The animals were a big hit! Here is Sam posing with the cows.
Ben loved petting the Alpaca! He was sure the llama was going to eat his shoes... or in his words "yama eat shoes!". He tried to get his hands on all of the animals. Yes, we brought lots of hand sanitizer!
Sam rode the carousel 3 times! I think that was his favorite part of the day!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
The kids sat on several different kinds of farm equipment...

Sam and Lizzie pose with this pig every year!

We finally got the kids outta there and went to lunch with Papa, Mimi and the Arnolds at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. The kids had a great time and we had a great day!

Papa's Birthday

We celebrated Papa's birthday tonight. The cousins were so excited and loved singing and blowing out the candles. Too fun! The highlights of the evening were Sam and Lizzie throwing bottle caps onto the roof, the 10+ rounds of "Happy Birthday" and the bike derby on the back deck...
Sam and Ben have started wrestling! This is pretty funny since Sam isn't generally the wrestling type. Ben is more physical and not afraid to push his brother around. They take turns sneaking up behind each other and taking one another down with a bear hug. No injuries yet - just a bunch of giggling!

Multnomah Falls

We took a drive to Multnomah Falls today. Ben took off up the trail and kept saying "Go hike!"... Sam decided staying bundled up in the stroller was a better idea. Of course he changed his mind once it was time to go home! They both loved the waterfalls!

Summer Fun!

We have had a pretty active summer so far... trips to the pool, park, zoo and lots of playtime with friends and family!
