Wednesday - Horses

This morning the kids played outside, rode bikes and we made a trip to see the horses. They loved feeding the horses and ponies carrots...
Ben was bummed he was too young to ride a BIG horse.
This was the first year Sam had any desire to ride a horse. He has always watched his cousins, but this year told us "I am old enough to ride the ponies this year!"
4 muskateers
Lunch, naps, squirt gun fights, board games, biking, golf - a great day!

Sunriver - Tuesday

We had quite the eventful day today! Sam actually slept in until 9am! This is unheard of at our house -- the boys are usually up by 7. About 5 minutes after waking up he lost his 2nd tooth! We rode bikes and played a lot outside before heading into town.
We ate lunch with Aunt Susie at a cute place where the kids made their own pizzas - it was a hit!
The guys golfed 9 holes this afternoon and then we hit the pool for some sliding action...
When I get home I can edit these pix on my own computer - this one needs cropped but a good attempt at getting everyone to look at the camera.
More bike riding...
The kid has only been off of his training wheels for a few weeks and now he is standing up pumping on his new bike. Crazy!
The biggest news of the day... we stopped by to see Uncle Dennis and had Sam's eyes checked. We discovered he has an astigmatism and needs glasses. He is super excited since he has 2 friends that wear them. He picked these out because they are green - his favorite color. The pair he is wearing here is just a sample, so they aren't prescription but he wore them for 2 hours tonight. He looks so grown up!

Sunriver - First Full Day!

We've had a great day in Sunriver - the weather is perfect! Today spent a ton of time on bikes and the kids are doing great. They love the bike paths and have a loop near the house that is great for their age... not too many hills or people! I can hardly keep up with Sam this year!
Ben and Papa heading back to the house!
We took a ride to Fort Rock Park after breakfast and the kids loved it - climbers, swings, merry-go-round etc.
The cousins went down the pool slide about 50x this afternoon! Then we headed back home for more bike riding, game playing and a BBQ. We have a great yard where they play ball, run through the sprinklers and chase each other around. They will sleep well tonight!
These 2 are looking way grown up this year!

Water fun

The boys and I played at the pirate park this morning with friends... there wasn't much shade and it has been way hot the last few days. We had to make a stop on the way home at the Bethany fountain to cool off. They had so much fun!

New Bike!

Sam outgrew his bike last summer and today he got a new one! We went to quite a few places trying to meet both mom and 6 year old criteria...

Mom - Something not crazy expensive
Sam - Something green

We finally found it and he is in LOVE! We had to drag him in tonight at bedtime after a long day and tons of bike riding tonight. He can't wait to take it to Sunriver... I am still amazed at how quick he ditched the training wheels and is flying everywhere fast on two wheels!

Wild man

This kid scares the hell out of me... he has no fear and loves speed! And yes he is in his jammies...

Nursery

t's almost done!

Parade

This morning was the neighborhood 4th of July parade and party in the park. The cousins came over and all had a great time. There were bouncy houses and slides, a clown, face painting, games, crafts and everything else a kid could want.
Waiting to start...
En route...
Very excited!
Face painting...

32 weeks!

8 weeks to go!

Lilith Fair

Let's just say yesterday was a LONG day! We headed to the Lilith Fair at 1:30 and got our spot on the lawn. The main stage acts were running behind and didn't start until almost 6pm! We weren't allowed to leave the amphitheater and come back in... so we sat under tarps in the rain for hours! There were a lot of big bands but Sheryl Crow and Sugarland were awesome. We saw Sugarland last year and as usual they are full of energy and always steal the show. Brian was home with the boys - he would have hated this concert! One of his high school buddies was with us and was a good sport! I think the beer helped! It was a fun night and very good people watching!
We made it home around midnight...long day but a great time with great friends!

Annual 4th Bike Decorating/BBQ

Everyone came over Wednesday to decorate bikes for the parade and enjoy this great weather!
Sprinkler action with the little cousins.
All decorated up and ready to go!
